Background
Dr Sarah Norris is a co-director of Health Technology Analysts Pty Ltd (www.htanalysts.com) and a Director of the Health Services Assessment Collaboration (HSAC) www.hsac.net. Sarah has worked as a consultant in health economic and technology assessment since 1998. During that time, Sarah has gained extensive experience in the clinical and economic evaluation of both pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and is expert in the assessment of the clinical and cost data to defend price differentials between new and existing therapies.

Sarah has served as an evaluator for the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC), Australia (www.msac.gov.au) and is currently an NHMRC consultant for the assessment of externally developed Clinical Practice Guidelines. Sarah has been an invited speaker at the ARCS Annual Scientific Congress, and at the AusBiotech Annual Conference.Sarah has been a Director of Health Technology Analysts since 2002.

Prior to entering the field of health technology assessment in 1998, Sarah worked as a medical research scientist in physiology and neuropharmacology at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, Wellington NZ, the Parke-Davis Neuroscience Research Centre, Cambridge, England, the University of Leeds, England, and at UNSW, Australia.

Sarah is a member of Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi), The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), the Australian Health Economics Society (AHES) and the Australian Association for Regulatory and Clinical Scientists (ARCS). Sarah has previously served on the Health Economics Education Subcommittee of ARCS, and is currently Secretary of the Australian Chapter of ISPOR.

Background
Dr Adèle Weston has been a Director of HTanalysts since 2002, and is also a Director of the Health Services Assessment Collaboration. Adèle has worked as a consultant in the field of health outcomes research and health economics in Australia and the UK since 2000, including as a government HTA evaluator.

Adèle has particular expertise in the critical appraisal of clinical and epidemiological evidence, the elicitation of preference-based utility weights, and the evaluation of procedural and diagnostic technologies. In addition to numerous HTA reports, Adèle has published 20 full papers in the peer-reviewed scientific and economic literature. Adèle is currently serving a second term on an NHMRC expert panel of consultants, providing methodological advice to developers of clinical practice guidelines.

Adèle completed undergraduate studies at the University of Otago, NZ before commencing employment at the Hammersmith Hospital, London, where she held a research position in clinical cardiology. After completing a PhD in physiology at the University of Cape Town, Adèle held academic posts at the University of Natal Medical School, South Africa and the University of Sydney, Australia. Adèle continues to hold an honorary academic appointment at the University of Sydney.

Dr Suzanne Campbell is a Health Outcomes Manager at HTanalysts and a senior member of the Health Services Assessment Collaboration (HSAC). Suzanne manages the preparation of reimbursement dossiers and the conduct of health technology assessments. Suzanne is a member of Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) and the Australian Association for Regulatory and Clinical Scientists (ARCS), and has presented her work at the annual European Congress of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). Suzanne recently completed the Cancer Institute NSW Basic Sciences in Oncology course.

Prior to entering the field of health technology assessment in 2004, Suzanne worked as a medical research scientist in renal medicine at Royal North Shore Hospital, Australia, and in perinatal medicine at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research, Australia.

Background
Paul Mernagh is the Health Economics Manager at HTanalysts and a senior member of the Health Services Assessment Collaboration (HSAC). Paul commenced employment with HTanalysts in 2004, and after gaining additional experience in Europe, Paul returned to HTanalysts in January 2009.

Paul has been employed as an economic consultant since 2000. During this time Paul has developed many economic models for Australian and global settings. In addition to pharmacoeconomic modelling, Paul has also built complex models in the area of screening interventions and diagnostic testing. Paul is now one of Australia’s most experienced economic modellers.

Paul is a member of the Australian Health Economics Society (AHES), the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and the Australian Association for Regulatory and Clinical Scientists (ARCS).
