Systematic reviews and critical appraisal

We can undertake one or more of the following, as required:

Health economic analysis

We can advise and implement the most appropriate approach to an economic evaluation, be it a cost-benefit, cost-minimisation, cost-effectiveness or cost-utility analysis.

We can use a range of methods to provide inputs to economic analyses, such as:

Bottom-up or top-down costing studies
Cross-sectional or longitudinal health utility studies using a Multi Attribute Utility instrument
Resource use surveys
SF-36 transformations
Critical reviews of utility literature We can prepare core dossiers to be used internationally for reimbursement

Economic and mathematical modelling

We can apply any of the following methodologies, as required for health economic analyses:

Decision analytic modelling using TreeAge DATA or Microsoft Excel
Markov and semi-Markov models
Probabilistic Sensitivity Analyses

Reimbursement submissions and strategies

We can assist as required, from advising on overall strategy for a reimbursement submission through to completion of submissions, including submissions which defend the price of products already listed for reimbursement.

We attribute our higher than average success to our robust integration of clinical and economic arguments, and our pro-active defence of critical assumptions.

We have undertaken many PBAC submissions for high cost drugs which have required the development of justifiable eligibility and continuation of funding criteria.

We understand the perspective of the government, given that six of our senior staff have previously served as MSAC evaluators.
